GM Bitcoiners,
It’s that day of the year…
The day when people rush to get more stuff they probably don’t need.
I must confess that I’ll be joining the rush for the sake of Christmas presents (it turns out my family don’t like being given Bitcoin-related gifts)… but my buying habits have changed massively since Bitcoin.
Right now, I’m looking at 5 pairs of Nike Jordan 1 trainers that I’ve collectively not worn more than 7 or 8 times.
As I went through these trainers, I couldn’t imagine why I’d bought them in the first place.
It’s like I was trying to relate to a stranger. Forgetting the money spent, it’s not even like I thought they were all that nice, at least for my style.
Now I’m going through everything else and trying to think more about the value of something before I purchase it…
How long will this last?
How often will I use it?
Will I want this next month? Or do I just want it now?
It’s not that I’ve gone off ‘consuming’ or will wear one pair of trainers until they’re in tatters, but the value of ‘things’ has changed now the orange-tinted glasses are on.
I’m trying to look beyond the immediate urge to buy something, look further into the future, and find the real value in the product.
Anyway, this is way too deep for a Friday; here’s some Bitcoin fun for the weekend…
